XChat is a well known GUI IRC Client, it provides common irc client’s features for leisure user like me. If you are looking for more advanced IRC Client, check out irssi.

To join multiple channel at once in xchat, you can type the command line in xchat show as bellow:

/j #myoss,#fluxbox,#ubuntu,#lbe

P.S. Do not add space between comer(,) and next channel.

To join multiple channel automatically when connecting to specific irc server ( let say irc.freenode.net), you need to edit the network properties in network list dialog.

To trigger network list dialog, select XChat menu -> NetworkList, or press Ctrl S. Select the network you want to edit, and click edit button, under channel to join, enter a list of channel to join.

#myoss,#fluxbox,#ubuntu,#lbe

P.S. Do not add space between comer(,) and next channel.
